Hi! My name is Christine Trotta and I am so excited to be joining The Learning Habitat team. I hold a BS Degree in Special Education and graduated with a dual degree in elementary and special education summa cum laude from Dowling College. I moved to North Carolina from New York in 2013 with my husband and two daughters. I hold highly qualified teaching certifications in elementary and special education, as well as, middle grade English language arts. I am also trained in Orton Gillingham. I am a serial problem solver whose passion is working with children who need extra support and a different approach to learn. I have taught in CMS, UCPS and varying charter schools over the past 10 years in addition to the years I taught in NY.
Fun fact, I taught myself how to sew then became a children’s clothing designer and manufactured a small boutique clothing line when my girls were little. In tandem, I pursued photography and am a professional photographer. I love to cook, quilt, crochet and soak in the sun to decompress. Teaching is truly a gift and I look forward to working with your children!
